Description: In five 4-hour sessions students will experience a comprehensive introduction to woodworking and woodworking machines.  Students will build their own cutting board and a stool to take home.  During this class students will:

 

  • Operate a drill press, router table, drum sander, and other stationary sanding machines safely.
  • Learn to use glue and clamps.
  • Learn how to square lumber.
  • Learn how to prepare a project for finishing and apply a finishing product.

 

Level: Beginner

Prerequisite: Age >18  

Format: 5 sessions, each 4 hours

Projects you will make: Cutting board and small stool

Cost: $500 and $35 SDFWA  membership

 

Special instructions for this class: Students should bring pencils, safety goggles, and earplugs to class.

 

Full refunds for cancelations more than 14 days in advance or if class is cancelled; 50% refunds for cancelations more than 7 days in advance; No refunds for cancelations less than 7 days in advance or for failure to appear.
