SERIES OF CLASSES

Total # of Classes
2

Class length
180 minutes

Location
Bench Room

Students will learn the principles of sharpening and maintaining chisels, plane blades, and cabinet card scrapers without jigs, and they will engage in a lot of supported practice doing so.  Students will learn how to sharpen tools quickly, consistently, and efficiently so they can focus on the woodwork, not tool maintenance.

Note: Students should purchase and bring an unused chisel, minimum 3/4" wide; a card scraper, preferably a 0.8mm thick BAHCO; and a plane that is complete and in good condition.   The instructor would be happy to guide students if they wish to purchase new tools.  If a student does not own a plane, we will provide one if given advance notice.
