How to Sharpen Plane Blades

This class will teach you how to prepare and sharpen your plane blades.

When you buy a new or used plane, the blade will need to be correctly tuned and sharpened before use. This class will teach you how to quickly do this and then, when it gets dull, resharpen and resume work in about one minute. This will allow you to enjoy using your plane blade to its full potential.  After this class, you will be prepared to take the Plane Set Up and Use.

There are no prerequisites for this hands-on class. It has been developed for people who are new to hand sharpening or frustrated with their current skill level.

Students should bring a new or used plane blade in good condition. This is a sharpening class and we will not have time to restore damaged or rusty blades.

For insurance reasons, all SDFWA classes require students to be at least 18 years old.
