Description: In this class the student will learn:
Lathe and tool safety
Tool sharpening
Bowl gouge use and introduction of the four basic cuts:
Push cuts, pull cuts, scraping cuts, and the shear scrape
How to make a dovetail tenon to fit a four jaw chuck
Using a lathe-mounted drill chuck.
Level: Beginner
Prerequisites: Age 18+; Turning A and Shop Spindle Certification;
Format: 1 session, 5 hours
Project you will make: Weed vase and Jam Chuck
Cost: $150 and $35 SDFWA Membership
