Class 201 - Introduction to Hand Tool Sharpening (Spring ‘24 - April)

Students will learn the principles of sharpening and maintaining chisels, plane blades, and cabinet card scrapers without jigs. This is a foundational class for all woodworkers but especially those who wish to work with hand tools.
Prerequisites: Age 18+
Class Schedule: One four hour session
Cost: $100 and $35 SDFWA Membership
Special instructions for this class: Students should purchase and bring an unused chisel, minimum 3/4" wide; a card scraper, preferably a 0.8mm thick BAHCO; and a plane that is complete and in good condition. If a student does not own a plane, one can be provided if given advance notice.
Refund policy:
- Up to two weeks notice: Full refund
- Up to one week notice: 50% refund
- Less than one week notice or failure to appear: No refund or credit
- Class canceled: Full refund or credit
If a class does not have an adequate number of registered students one week prior to the posted start date, the class may be canceled.
