Class - 412 Introduction to LightBurn (Winter - February)

This course provides an introduction to LightBurn, which is the layout, editing, and control software for the laser cutter.  By taking this course, students will:

  1. Learn how to set up and configure LightBurn;
  2. Discover the windows available in LightBurn screens;
  3. Understand the functions of the top, right and left menu options and use them effectively;
  4. Discover and use the “hot keys”;
  5. Learn where to find help when it’s needed;
  6. Start a project and use the information learned in the class to create the project
Note: Students must bring a laptop with LightBurn installed.  Go to the Lightburn website to download trial software. https://lightburnsoftware.com/pages/trial-version-try-before-you-buy 

Schedule:  One three-hour session followed immediately by one hour of optional project assistance.

Prerequisites: Laser Certification

For insurance reasons, all SDFWA classes require students to be at least 18 years old.

Membership Requirements: For insurance purposes, this class requires membership in the San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association.  Annual dues are $35.  If you are not already a member, please join https://sdfwa.org/membershipse here.

Cost: $95

Refund policy:
  1. Up to two weeks notice: Full refund
  2. Up to one week notice: 50% refund or credit
  3. Less than one week notice or failure to appear: No refund or credit
  4. Class canceled: Full refund
If a class does not have an adequate number of registered students one week prior to the posted start date, the class may be canceled.
